L'Harmonie de Bourges

About

L'Harmonie de Bourges is a French wind orchestra based in Bourges, formed in late 1999 by merging two local ensembles - the SAMP and the Harmonie Municipale de Bourges. Around 80 musicians, both amateurs and advanced conservatory students, keep alive a tradition of French harmonie playing that dates back to 1878. The orchestra reached the top Excellence grade at the Étampes competition in 2004, and performs two main concerts each season: the Sainte-Cécile concert in November and a spring gala.
