Krounex is a rock band from Světlá (South Moravia, Czech Republic), founded in 1995 by three students of a technical school in Jedovnice who started playing rock with more enthusiasm than experience. After several lineup changes the band settled into a four-piece (Aleš Komínek on vocals/guitar, Jan Šot on guitar, Eduard Dokoupil on bass, Ondřej Seidl on drums) and has since played regional festivals, beer celebrations and private events across Moravia. Their set mixes original rock/metal/punk songs - the best-known being the 2012 single 'Bohatej a zdravej' - with covers of Metallica, Iron Maiden, System of a Down and Helloween. They have opened for established Czech acts including Arakain, Alkehol, Wohnout and Harlej.
The band released an official music video for the single 'Listen, Buddy', filmed at Radek Zak Audio studio.
A new vocalist Honza Gavanda (ex Medium Blansko) joined Krounex, who in addition to singing also plays guitar.
In the 2018 season, the band performed at several events with a repertoire of over 80 songs, with guitars standardly tuned down by a half-tone.
Krounex performed at a motorcycle rally in Slovakia at the invitation of the band Hovädá - it was the group's first foreign performance.
The band recorded their own song 'Rich and Healthy' (music and lyrics by E. Dokoupil), for which they received a gold record from the bassist of Beznadějný případ.
