Kristýna Horská

About

Kristýna Horská (born 30 September 1997 in Prague) is a Czech swimmer specialising in the 200 m breaststroke and short individual medley, competing for Slavie VŠ Plzeň. She won gold at the 2024 European Championships in Belgrade with a time of 2:23.60, simultaneously setting a Czech record and securing her Olympic qualification - a result she could not even see on the scoreboard due to her ongoing vision problems. Her career has continued despite heart surgery for arrhythmia and a temporary partial loss of sight in one eye that forced her to miss the 2023 World Championships. She has competed at two Olympic Games, Tokyo and Paris.

    At the European Short Course Championships in Otopeni, Horska won the bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke in a Czech record time of 2:19.63 - her first major medal of her career.
