Power Ballad
A romantic comedy about two musical careers that unexpectedly collide. Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas play a singer and former star whose friendship turns into a battle for recognition.
Keith McErlean is an Irish actor from Carndonagh, County Donegal, who trained at the Gaiety School of Acting. He became widely known in Ireland for playing Barry across all three series of the RTÉ comedy-drama Bachelors Walk (2001-2006), and has since built a varied screen career spanning films such as Flyboys (2006), Nowhere Special (2020) and Flora and Son (2023), as well as the FX Troubles miniseries Say Nothing (2024). In June 2026 he appears in John Carney's musical comedy Power Ballad alongside Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas.
McErlean plays Kyle in the film comedy Power Ballad (directed by John Carney) with Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, which had its world premiere on March 1, 2026 at the Dublin International Film Festival and was released in cinemas on June 5, 2026.
Production of the third season of the series Kin has been confirmed, in which McErlean plays Con Doyle - production is set to begin in Dublin in 2025.
The miniseries Say Nothing, in which McErlean played Seamus McKendry in three episodes, premiered on November 14, 2024 on FX/Hulu and won the Peabody Award.
The series Kin, where McErlean plays Con Doyle, became available on Netflix from May 1, 2024 and gained a new international audience.
McErlean also appeared in the series Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale (2024-2025) on Sundance Now in the role of Albie Garston.
