Karel Roden (born 18 May 1962 in České Budějovice) is a Czech actor from a multi-generational acting family - his father and grandfather were both actors. After graduating from Prague's Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in 1985, he built a strong theatre career before breaking into international film following a period of study in London. He is best known abroad for roles in Hellboy (2004), The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and RocknRolla (2008), and at home has won the Czech Lion Award for Best Actor twice - for Guard No. 47 (2008) and A Prominent Patient (2016).
