Jozef Kroner was a Slovak actor and one of the most distinctive figures in Slovak cinema. He gained international recognition for his role as Tóno Brtko in the film The Shop on Main Street (1965), a co-production that won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He worked in theatre and film for over four decades.
