Jurassic Park
Spielberg's landmark sci-fi thriller about a dinosaur-filled theme park that becomes a fight for survival when security systems fail.
Joseph Francis Mazzello (born September 21, 1983, in Rhinebeck, New York) is an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He broke through as a child playing Tim Murphy in Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993), then built a second career as an adult portraying real figures: WWII marine Eugene Sledge in HBO's The Pacific (2010), Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz in The Social Network (2010), and Queen bassist John Deacon in the blockbuster biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). He studied cinema and television production at USC, where he enrolled on a recommendation from Steven Spielberg.
The film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), in which Mazzello played John Deacon, lost the record for the most successful music biographical film - it was surpassed by the biopic Michael about Michael Jackson with box office earnings exceeding 911 million dollars.
At the GalaxyCon Raleigh 2025 panel, Mazzello stated that he would like to return to the Jurassic Park franchise, to which he has not been invited since 1997.
