Jordan Rakei (born 23 May 1992 in Tokoroa, New Zealand) is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who grew up in Brisbane and has been based in London since 2015. Across seven albums - from his 2016 debut Cloak through Wallflower, Origin and The Loop (2024) - he has carved out a distinctive space at the intersection of neo-soul, jazz and alternative R&B, earning a 2025 Ivor Novello nomination for Best Album. He was also named the first-ever Artist in Residence at Abbey Road Studios and has collaborated with Bonobo, Loyle Carner and Tom Misch.
Jordan Rakei announced his seventh album A Safe Place To Be Wild (October 30, 2026, Fontana) and released the first single 'Enemies'.
For his new album, Rakei announced his largest European and British tour, which will culminate in April 2027 at London's Alexandra Palace.
Rakei released the collaborative EP Between Us, created during his residency at Abbey Road Studios, featuring FKJ, Jalen Ngonda, Tom McFarland (Jungle), Nubya Garcia, and Femi Koleoso (Ezra Collective).
The album The Loop (2024) received a nomination for the Ivor Novello Award in the Best Album category - the first nomination of this kind in Rakei's career.
Rakei became the first artist in history to be appointed Artist in Residence at Abbey Road Studios and ended the year with two sold-out concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall.
