About

Johnny Jewel (born John David Padgett, 1974, Houston) is an American musician, producer, composer and visual artist. In 2006 he co-founded the independent label Italians Do It Better, home to Chromatics, Glass Candy and Desire - projects built on cold synth-pop rooted in Italo disco and the nocturnal aesthetics of the 1980s. As a film composer he worked with Nicolas Winding Refn on Bronson and Drive, contributed to the Twin Peaks: The Return soundtrack, and won the Georges Delerue Award for his score to the Belgian film Home.
