Joe Morton (born October 18, 1947, New York City) is an American actor whose career spans stage, television, and film across more than five decades. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for his role as the menacing Rowan Pope in Shonda Rhimes' Scandal, and earned a Tony Award nomination for the 1974 Broadway musical Raisin. Film audiences know him from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Speed (1994), among over 70 screen credits.
Morton joined the cast of the new legal drama Cupertino on CBS from the creators of The Good Wife, where he plays Bayard, the famous lawyer father of the main character.
In the second season of the sitcom Going Dutch (Fox), Morton continues the role of General Gerald Davidson as a special guest.
The New York Vineyard Theatre held an anniversary gala in honor of Morton as its longtime artist and board member.
