Yoji Matsuda (松田 洋治, Matsuda Yōji; born October 19, 1967 in Setagaya, Tokyo) is a Japanese actor and voice actor who has been working since 1972. He became internationally known in 1997 for voicing Ashitaka in Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke and for dubbing Leonardo DiCaprio's role in the Japanese version of Titanic. He began his career as a child performer with the Himawari Theatre Group and has since worked across theatre, television and voice acting.
Matsuda Yōji received his first regular role in a television anime for the first time in his career - in the summer series Warudo izu Dansingu (World Is Dancing) he played the character Inuō.
The Princess Mononoke 4K UHD + Blu-ray set release (June 24, 2026) includes as bonus material recordings from the IMAX premiere ceremony that Matsuda attended.
Matsuda Yōji was cast in the theatrical play Standard Short Long Drop (Sutandādo Shōto Rongu Doroppu), which deals with dialogue between those condemned to death.
Matsuda Yōji attended the ceremonial premiere of the 4K IMAX remaster of Princess Mononoke at TOHOシネマズ Shinjuku and spoke about filming with director Miyazaki.
