Jiří Svěrák is a Czech screenwriter and actor, best known for his long collaboration with his son, director Jan Svěrák. He wrote the scripts for films such as Obecná škola, Kolja (Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, 1997), and Dark Blue World. Pět švestek (2024) marks his feature directorial debut.
