Jiří Bělohlávek

Jiří Bělohlávek (1946–2017) was a Czech conductor of international standing, serving as chief conductor of the Czech Philharmonic and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He was celebrated for his interpretations of Czech repertoire, particularly works by Dvořák, Janáček, and Martinů. In 2014 he founded the conducting debut series at the Prague Spring festival.
