Jindřich Ulrich (born 1950, Prague) is a Czech painter and illustrator who has worked independently since 1978. He specialises in miniature oil paintings on small wooden panels, drawing mainly on 18th-century history - courtly culture, literature, music and philosophy. His work is marked by a sharp eye for detail, dry wit and a taste for mystification. Alongside his paintings he also creates small carved and painted birds, and has a parallel career as a book illustrator.
