Jimi Hendrix (1942–1970) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of rock music. He pioneered the use of feedback, distortion, and improvisation in blues-rooted psychedelic rock. His iconic tracks include "Purple Haze" and "Voodoo Child".
