Jemaine Clement is a New Zealand actor, comedian, musician, and filmmaker, best known as one half of the comedy-folk duo Flight of the Conchords. He co-created and starred in the cult HBO series of the same name (2007-2009), earning six Primetime Emmy nominations, and co-wrote and directed the mockumentary horror film What We Do in the Shadows (2014) with Taika Waititi, which spawned a long-running franchise. He voiced the villain Tamatoa in Disney's Moana (2016) and reprised the role in the live-action remake, and appeared in A Minecraft Movie in 2025.
Flight of the Conchords, after an eight-year break, performed three sold-out concerts in California - at Santa Barbara Bowl and at two evenings as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles.
Before the California tour, Clement and McKenzie performed four warm-up shows at the Wellington club Meow Nui in New Zealand.
Following the success of the California shows, the duo announced additional dates in New Zealand and Australia; further North American tours are expected.
Clement appeared in the full-length film A Minecraft Movie in the role of eccentric auctioneer Daryl and simultaneously voiced the animated character piglin Bruce.
The series What We Do in the Shadows, which Clement created and produced, concluded its six-season run on FX in December 2024.
