About

Jan Viktor Mládek (1911–1989) was a Czech-American economist and diplomat who went into exile after the Communist takeover in 1948. He worked for the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. Together with his wife Meda Mládková, he built a major collection of modern art, particularly works by František Kupka, which later formed the core of the Museum Kampa in Prague.
