Jan Vičar (*1967, Svitavy) is a Czech graphic artist known above all for large-format linocuts. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and for many years headed the printmaking studio at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno. His awards include the Prix de Gravure Mario Avati from the French Académie des Beaux Arts (2018) and the Boudník Prize (2020). He lives near Telč but spends much of his time abroad - in France, Italy, Morocco, South Africa, and the USA - and these travels feed directly into his work.
