
Golden Fever of Swing and Jazz
The Swing Melody quartet performs classic swing and jazz standards from Gershwin, Armstrong, and Ellington in a 65-minute concert.
Jan Veverka is a Czech trumpeter, singer, arranger and bandleader, a graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague. In 2011 he founded the swing orchestra Swing Melody Ostrov, rooted in the jazz and swing tradition of the 1930s and 40s - both American and First-Republic Czech. Alongside Swing Melody he also plays with the Prague Rhythm Kings, a band dedicated to 1920s hot jazz.
Swing Melody celebrated the orchestra's 15th anniversary with a festive concert at DK Ostrov and presented their new album Honba za písničkou.
Swing Melody presented their new album Honba za písničkou at the Prague Jazz Dock; the record was released on CD and cassette.
At the presentation in Jazz Dock, new original compositions, songs by Voskovce and Werich, and classic swing standards were performed.
