Jan Kopecký

About

Jan Kopecký is a Czech woodcarver, carpenter and puppeteer who has been carving puppets for over a decade. He co-founded the amateur puppet company Divadlo Arnošta, whose very first performance took place beneath Houska Castle. On the moving lime-wood Hell installation at Houska he serves as the lead carver.

A unique hand-carved mechanical display inspired by Dante's Inferno, featuring eleven moving scenes of infernal punishments. Open April to October in a former carriage house at Houska Castle.
