About

Jan Hus was a Czech medieval religious reformer, preacher and thinker active at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. He criticised corruption in the Catholic Church and advocated reform of Christian life. In 1415 he was condemned as a heretic by the Council of Constance and burned at the stake. He became a symbol of Czech national identity and a forerunner of the European Reformation.
