James Cameron (born 1954, Kapuskasing, Canada) is a director, screenwriter and producer whose films have twice held the all-time global box office record. Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009) each topped the worldwide charts in their era, and his Avatar sequels have continued to rank among the biggest releases of their respective years. Beyond feature films, he is an active deep-sea explorer and a persistent driver of cinema technology.
