Jacky Ido is a Burkinabe-French actor born on 14 May 1977 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He gained international recognition as Marcel, the film projectionist in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009), a role that earned him a SAG Award as part of the ensemble cast. His career spans German, French and American productions - from The White Masai (2005) to the NBC series Taxi Brooklyn (2014) - and he is also known as a slam poet who performed under the name John Pucc'Chocolat.
Jacky Ido played the role of Theramenes in Racine's Phèdre (directed by Muriel Mayette-Holtz) at the Parisian stage La Scala Paris (October 16-26, 2025).
The French press recalled Ido's theatrical collaboration with director Muriel Mayette-Holtz, which began with the production of Bérénice in 2022 and continues with Phèdre.
In September 2024, Jacky Ido performed with his musical project Jacky Ido & Les Choco'Latés at the Parisian concert venue L'Européen.
Phèdre premiered in summer 2024 at the first edition of the Festival de Tragédies in the amphitheater Arènes de Cimiez in Nice.
In January and February 2023, Ido performed in Racine's Bérénice at the La Scala Paris stage directed by Muriel Mayette-Holtz.
