Ivan M. Jirous

Ivan Martin Jirous (1944–2011) was a Czech poet, art critic, and the chief ideologist of the Czech underground movement. He served as artistic director of The Plastic People of the Universe and spent a total of eight and a half years in prison for his resistance to the communist regime. His best-known work is Magorův zápisník (Magor's Notebook).
