
Heart of a Dog
An adaptation of Bulgakov's classic novella about an experiment that transforms a dog into a human. A sharp satire on society and human nature, directed by Valery Zolotukhin.
Igor Khalizov (born 1960) is a Ukrainian-Russian stage and screen actor and television director, trained at the Kyiv Institute of Theatre Arts (Karpenko-Kary). He is best known to TV audiences from the series Vozvrashcheniye Mukhtara and Po raznym beregam, and from the film Dissident - over twenty screen credits in total. With Bulgakov Theatre (Poltava) he plays Professor Preobrazhensky in Heart of a Dog, having previously taken the role of Woland in The Master and Margarita.
The production of Dog's Heart by Bulgakov's Theatre with Khalikov in the lead role completed an autumn tour of German cities (Dresden, Bremen, Münster, Nuremberg, Siegen and others).
Bulgakov's Theatre brought Dog's Heart to Prague - the performance took place on November 23 at the Na Maninách Theatre.
Khalikov went on tour in North America with the production of Dog's Heart - performances took place in Vancouver, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and other cities in the USA and Canada.
The film Dissident (Ukraine, 2022) was added to Khalikov's filmography.
