Holt McCallany (born Holt Quinn McAloney, September 3, 1963, New York City) is an American actor with a career spanning over three decades, known for working with directors such as David Fincher, Guillermo del Toro, and Guy Ritchie. He is best recognized as FBI agent Bill Tench in Netflix's Mindhunter (2017-2019) and as wrestling patriarch Fritz Von Erich in The Iron Claw (2023). In June 2025 he returned to Netflix as the lead of the crime family drama The Waterfront, which debuted at number one on the platform's global chart.
McCallany landed the lead role in the noir thriller Hyde, which is being filmed in Bucharest - he plays a detective pursuing a serial killer.
McCallany will appear in the film Clean Hands, which premiered at the Tribeca festival on June 7, 2026.
McCallany signed a contract for the lead role in the thriller Paradise: Disturbed, which was filmed in Savannah, Georgia.
