Henry Golding (born 5 February 1987 in Betong, Sarawak) is a British-Malaysian actor who broke through as Nick Young in the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians (2018), a film that grossed over $238 million worldwide and became a landmark for Asian representation in Hollywood. Before acting, he built a career as a TV presenter for BBC, ESPN and Discovery Channel Asia. Recent credits span The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024), The Old Guard 2 on Netflix (2025) opposite Charlize Theron, the Hulu series Nine Perfect Strangers (2025), and the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy Close Personal Friends.
Golding was cast in the comedy Close Personal Friends for Amazon MGM Studios alongside Brie Larson, Lily Collins, and Jack Quaid; filming began in London in September 2025.
Golding appeared in The Old Guard 2 on Netflix alongside Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman, which premiered on July 2, 2025.
Golding confirmed that the series adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians for HBO Max is approaching production, and filming could begin in the first quarter of 2026.
Golding made his debut in the series Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu, season 2) as Peter; the premiere took place on May 21, 2025.
The sequel Another Simple Favor was released on Amazon Prime Video (May 1, 2025), in which Golding reprised the role of Sean Townsend.
