Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (1644–1704) was a Bohemian-born Baroque composer and violinist who spent much of his career in Salzburg. He is regarded as one of the foremost violinists of his era and a pioneer of advanced violin technique, including scordatura tuning. His most celebrated work is the cycle of Rosary Sonatas for violin and basso continuo.
