Gloryhammer are a British power metal band founded in 2010 by keyboardist Christopher Bowes, also the frontman of pirate metallers Alestorm. Every member plays a character in an ongoing fantasy-sci-fi saga centred on Prince Angus McFife and his battles against the sorcerer Zargothrax, performing live in full armour and costume. Signed to Napalm Records, the band has released four albums and their fifth, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, is due in October 2026.
Gloryhammer announced their fifth studio album Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, which is released on October 16, 2026 on Napalm Records as a direct continuation of the album Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards.
The band announced dates for an extensive European tour in October and November 2026, which includes a stop in Ostrava (November 5, 2026).
Gloryhammer performed at the Louder Than Life 2025 festival in Louisville, USA.
The band released their fourth album Return to the Kingdom of Fife (June 2, 2023) with new vocalist Sozos Michael, who replaced Thomas Winkler.
In August 2021, the band announced the departure of vocalist Thomas Winkler; in December 2021, his successor, Cypriot singer Sozos Michael, was introduced.
