About

Georg Muffat (1653–1704) was a Baroque composer and organist who synthesised French and Italian styles after studying with Lully in Paris and Corelli in Rome. He served at courts in Salzburg and Passau. His collections Armonico tributo and Florilegium are among the finest works of late Baroque instrumental music.
