G.D. Spradlin

G. D. Spradlin (1920-2011) was an American character actor, attorney, and businessman from Oklahoma who came to acting only in his forties, after making a fortune as an independent oil producer. He is best remembered for two Francis Ford Coppola films: the corrupt Senator Pat Geary in The Godfather Part II (1974) and General Corman in Apocalypse Now (1979). Over a career of more than thirty years he appeared in over 70 productions, almost always as authority figures - politicians, military officers, judges.
