Frankie Faison (born June 10, 1949, in Newport News, Virginia) is an American actor whose career spans more than five decades across theater, television, and film. He is best known as Commissioner Ervin Burrell in HBO's The Wire and as Barney Matthews in the Hannibal Lecter franchise - the only actor to appear in all three Anthony Hopkins entries. On Broadway he received a Tony nomination for August Wilson's Fences, and in 2021 he won the Gotham Award for Outstanding Lead Performance for The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain.
Faison joined the cast of the romantic comedy The Sham for Amazon MGM Studios, starring Cameron Diaz and Stephen Merchant; the film was shot in New York.
Faison played a regular role as Christopher 'Cutty' Clark in the ABC series The Rookie: Feds (2022-2023).
In the film Till (2022) he played John Cartan, the father of Mamie Till; the film received seven nominations for NAACP Image Awards.
Faison received the Gotham Award for exceptional acting performance in the lead role in the film The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain.
