Festa del Redentore is a traditional Venetian festival held every year on the third Sunday of July. It commemorates the end of the plague epidemic of 1576 and is celebrated with a spectacular fireworks display over the lagoon. A procession of boats and a temporary pontoon bridge across the Giudecca canal are among its most iconic features.
