GRAND PRIX OF CZECHIA 2026
The MotoGP World Championship races at the legendary Masaryk Circuit in Brno, featuring the world's top riders including champions Marc Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
Fabio Quartararo (born 20 April 1999 in Nice) is a French motorcycle racer who in 2021 became the first Frenchman to win the MotoGP World Championship. He started riding at age four, honed his craft in Spain, and made his MotoGP debut in 2019 with Petronas Yamaha - taking seven podiums and Rookie of the Year in his first season. Known as 'El Diablo', he races for Monster Energy Yamaha and is set to leave the team after 2026 for a move to Honda.
At Mugello, Quartararo on the Yamaha V4 failed to score points and finished second-to-last - 34 seconds behind winner Bezzecchi.
Quartararo admitted that the Yamaha V4 has made no significant progress since September 2025, and his motivation is declining.
Quartararo confirmed negotiations with Honda about a move for 2027, but no contract had been signed as of February 2026.
Motorsport.com was the first to report that Quartararo agreed with Honda on a two-year contract from the 2027 season.
Quartararo rated the 2025 season as 5 out of 10 - despite five pole positions and three podiums, he was limited by the uncompetitive Yamaha M1.
