Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor born in Perth in 1971, whose career spans indie drama, blockbuster franchises and musical theatre. He broke through as Mark Renton in Trainspotting (1996), went on to play Obi-Wan Kenobi across the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and won a Primetime Emmy for his portrayal of fashion designer Halston (2021). He holds a Golden Globe, an Emmy and an OBE.
McGregor and Alan Cumming announced that in summer 2027 they will perform together in a theatrical adaptation of the film Supernova at Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
