Eric Idle is a British comedian, actor and writer, best known as one of the six members of Monty Python. He contributed to all the group's major projects, from the Flying Circus TV series to films such as Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life (1983). He later wrote the stage musical Spamalot, based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
