Sasha Dolgopolov (stage name Sasha Kapadia) is a Russian stand-up comedian born in 1994 in Magadan who has built an independent career since the mid-2010s. He left Russia in 2020 and has since performed in both Russian and English across Europe, releasing seven hour-long specials that together have over 14 million YouTube views. Known for a distinctive comedic voice and open criticism of Russian policy, he was arrested in absentia by a Moscow court in August 2026 on charges of "rehabilitation of Nazism".
The Tagansky Court in Moscow issued an arrest warrant in absentia against Dolgopolov in August 2026 as part of criminal proceedings on "rehabilitation of Nazism"; the comedian was simultaneously declared wanted by federal authorities.
The Moscow Prosecutor's Office in May 2026 submitted materials to initiate criminal prosecution of Dolgopolov under Article 354.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism).
In February 2026, Dolgopolov launched a new English-language European tour with a program dedicated to the theme of rest and tranquility; one of the stops was Lisbon.
In 2025, Dolgopolov performed 51 English-language shows across Europe and released a new concert recording based on them.
In May 2024, Meduza reviewed Dolgopolov's first English-language stand-up special and noted that his distinctive comedic voice works in both languages.
