Korol i Shut

About

Korol i Shut (КиШ) was a Russian horror-punk band from Saint Petersburg, built around frontman Mikhail "Gorshok" Gorshenev and lyricist Andrei "Knyaz" Knyazev. Over sixteen years they released twelve studio albums blending punk rock with dark folk-tale imagery, becoming one of Russia's most iconic rock acts. Gorshenev died on 19 July 2013 from heart failure linked to substance abuse, and the band officially disbanded in January 2014. A biographical fantasy series about the band premiered on Kinopoisk in March 2023 and became the platform's most-watched title of that year.
