BoomBox is a Kyiv-based band founded in 2004 by vocalist Andriy Khlyvnyuk and guitarist Andriy Samoilo. Their mix of funk, rock and hip-hop sung in Ukrainian built them a following across the post-Soviet world. After Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Khlyvnyuk joined the Kyiv Territorial Defense; a video of him singing a folk song while armed went viral and became the basis of Pink Floyd's single "Hey, Hey, Rise Up!". The band now alternates between front-line service and European tours, with concert proceeds going to the Andriy Khlyvnyuk Foundation for drones and military equipment.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture granted BoomBox the status of a critically important enterprise, thereby ensuring a deferment from mobilization for its members.
BoomBox conducted a spring European tour "Dronotour" in eight countries - the proceeds went to the needs of the Chyzhak brigade and the 426th separate unmanned systems battalion.
In 2025, the band stopped performing songs in the Russian language.
In July 2022, Andriy Khlyvnyuk founded a charitable foundation that supplies the Ukrainian army with reconnaissance drones, vehicles, and generators.
Pink Floyd released the single "Hey, Hey, Rise Up!" built on an a cappella recording of Andriy Khlyvnyuk singing the Ukrainian folk song "Oy u luzi chervona kalyna".
