Empyrium is a German band from Hamburg that has blended black metal, neofolk and atmospheric doom since the mid-1990s. Their sound draws heavily on Romanticism and nature poetry, with albums like „A Wintersunset..." and „Weiland" becoming cult records in the genre. After a long hiatus, they returned with „The Turn of the Tides" in 2014.
