Ellen Wong is a Canadian actress of Chinese-Cambodian descent, born January 13, 1985, in Scarborough, Ontario. She broke through as Knives Chau in Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and reprised the role in the Netflix anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (2023). Her other notable credits include Jenny Chey in GLOW (Netflix), Jill 'Mouse' Chen in The Carrie Diaries (CW), and a recurring role in the sci-fi series Beacon 23 (MGM+). Her parents fled Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge genocide, a background that has shaped several of her on-screen characters.
In November 2024, Netflix cancelled the animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off after a single season; creator Bryan Lee O'Malley confirmed that the show will not return.
The sci-fi series Beacon 23 (MGM+), in which Wong played the role of Iris, was cancelled in September 2024 after two seasons.
