Edward Harrison Norton (born August 18, 1969, Boston) is an American actor, screenwriter, director and producer who has been one of Hollywood's most distinctive presences since the 1990s. His debut in the thriller Primal Fear (1996) was an immediate breakthrough, earning him a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He has received four Oscar nominations in total, most recently in 2025 for his portrayal of folk singer Pete Seeger in A Complete Unknown.
The film The Invite (A24), in which Norton stars alongside Penelope Cruz, Seth Rogen, and Olivia Wilde, enters limited theatrical release on June 26, 2026 following a successful premiere at Sundance.
