🎬 Dooley Wilson

About

Dooley Wilson (1886-1953) was an American actor, singer and musician, best remembered as Sam in the 1942 Warner Bros. film Casablanca, where he performed "As Time Goes By" - a song that ranked #2 on AFI's list of the greatest songs in film history. A professional drummer by trade, Wilson mimed the piano playing on screen while a studio pianist performed off-camera. Before his film career he led his own band, the Red Devils, touring nightclubs in London and Paris during the 1920s.
