Dirty Dancing is a 1987 American romantic drama directed by Emile Ardolino, starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze as a teenager and a dance instructor who fall in love at a Catskills resort in the summer of 1963. The film's soundtrack, built around the Oscar-winning song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life," helped it earn over $213 million worldwide and turn into a lasting pop-culture phenomenon. Its legacy continues through stage musicals and the touring "Dirty Dancing in Concert" film-with-live-band show, which has played venues across Europe and North America, including a Czech premiere in Prague in 2025.
The concert show Dirty Dancing in Concert had its Czech premiere in May 2025 at the Prague O2 universum.
In spring 2026, the European tour of Dirty Dancing in Concert continued as part of the celebration of the film's 38th anniversary with stops in Germany, including Dortmund.
In August 2026, the North American tour of the new stage musical Dirty Dancing: The Musical launched in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The theatrical version of Dirty Dancing simultaneously launched an extensive tour of Great Britain and Ireland in September 2026, which is scheduled to run until 2027.
