About
deary are a London-based shoegaze trio formed in 2021 when vocalist-guitarist Dottie Cockram and multi-instrumentalist Ben Easton began swapping ideas remotely during the COVID lockdown, later joined by drummer Harry Catchpole. Signed to Bella Union, they released their debut album Birding in April 2026, drawing on the dream pop and shoegaze tradition of Cocteau Twins, Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. Before the album, they toured as main support for Slowdive and scored a UK Vinyl Singles Chart number one with their debut single 'Fairground'.
