David Wayne Spade (born July 22, 1964, in Birmingham, Michigan) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and television personality who rose to fame as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1996, known for his sardonic "Hollywood Minute" commentary on Weekend Update. His film credits include Tommy Boy, Joe Dirt, and Grown Ups, while his TV work spans Just Shoot Me!, 8 Simple Rules, and Rules of Engagement. He remains active on the stand-up circuit and co-hosts the hit podcast Fly on the Wall with fellow SNL alumnus Dana Carvey.
The film Busboys, which Spade wrote, produced, and self-financed with Theo Vone, had its theatrical premiere on April 17, 2026.
Spade's fourth stand-up special Dandelion had its world premiere on May 6, 2025 on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries.
Fox announced the development of the sitcom Almost Paradise, in which Spade is set to star alongside Brooke Shields.
The podcast Fly on the Wall, which Spade hosts with Dana Carvey, won the Best Comedy Podcast award at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards 2025.
Spade launched the stand-up tour I Got A Feel For It, which took him across the United States.
