David Novotný is a Czech actor and voice artist, born on 12 June 1969 in Brandýs nad Labem. He trained at the Prague State Conservatory and spent nearly two decades in the ensemble of Dejvické divadlo, taking on lead roles in productions such as Oblomov and The Government Inspector. On screen he is best known as pilot Bedřich Mrtvý in Jan Svěrák's Dark Blue World; he now performs regularly at Divadlo Palace in Prague.
