David Byrne (born 14 May 1952, Dumbarton, Scotland) is a Scottish-American musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the founder and frontman of New York new wave band Talking Heads, active from 1975 to 1991. His solo work spans world music, orchestral composition, electronic dance-pop and multimedia theatre, with notable collaborations alongside Brian Eno, St. Vincent and Fatboy Slim. In 2025 he released the album 'Who Is the Sky?' and launched a world tour of over 110 shows.
