About
Dagmar Havlová Veškrnová (born 22 March 1953 in Brno) is a Czech actress with more than fifty feature films and hundreds of television roles to her name. She trained at the Brno Conservatory and the Janáček Academy, then built her stage career at the Divadlo na Vinohradech. In 1997 she married President Václav Havel and served as First Lady of the Czech Republic; together they co-founded the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97. After a break from acting she returned to the stage in 2005 and has remained one of the most prominent figures in Czech theatre and film.
