Current 93
A double concert by the experimental project Current 93 accompanying David Tibet's exhibition. Apocalyptic folk, poetry, and sound ritual.
Current 93 is a British experimental music project founded in London in 1982 by David Tibet, the group's sole constant member. Starting from industrial noise and tape loops, Tibet gradually shifted toward acoustic folk laced with mysticism, Christian apocalypticism and literary allusion - a sound that came to define the genre known as apocalyptic folk. Over four decades the project has released more than 90 albums and collaborated with artists ranging from Shirley Collins and Nick Cave to Marc Almond and Anohni.
